“The bulk of our work is the “Ben 70″ character, and “Ben 60″ when he leaves home. One of our last shots is when he is reading the letter from Daisy on the back of the tugboat. The line where he tells the Captain, “Well you do drink a lot”, that’s where the real Brad takes over. “

Nominees for the 7th Annual VES Awards

Los Angeles, January 19, 2009 – The Visual Effects Society (VES) today announced the nominees for the 7th Annual VES Awards ceremony recognizing outstanding visual effects in over a dozen categories of film, animation, television, commercials and video games. Nominees were chosen Saturday, January 17, 2009, by numerous panels of VES members who viewed submissions at the FotoKem screening facilities in Burbank.

2009 Oscars … and the nominees are …

Nominations for the 2009 Academy Awards were announced today, with “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” appearing as front runner, up for 13 of the esteemed Oscar statuettes.

Heath Ledger has posthumously claimed a place on the nominees list in the Best Supporting Actor category for his portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. The Dark Knight was nominated for eight awards in total, including Best Achievement in Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup, and Best Visual Effects.
